Wiliwilinui - December 13th, 2012

This day started with rain and continued and ended with the same thing RAIN! We were going to turn around or not even start, but the drive down was an hour, which sucks, so we decided to just go for it!

It was so windy up there! Like it was howling up there, noises that were made were totally creepy! It started ok, on a paved / gravel road, which was cool, then we got to the bench, where the actual frikin trail started! Stairs, stairs, and more stairs! Mud, mud, and more mud! It was sketchy in areas that wouldn't of felt sketchy in a situation that would be dry, it was so slippery! The ferns were very picky too, in suggest long pants, it wasn't the end of the world, but it kinda hurt! Gloves too especially in the mud, there are several ropes in place to aid w certain sections, and sections with ropes that were totally unnecessary.

Overall, we did enjoy the hike, if it were clear it would of been nicer of course! Take your time and enjoy the views!

Kamehame - December 4th, 2012

A short little hike down in Hawaii Kai that is paved all the way up, it was only 2 miles round trip, and the easiest path up to the koolau summit, there isn't much to say about this hike, because it is so easy, however it is private property and owned by the school district, there are some radio towers up there too, so usually there's someone working up there! The views are gorgeous! It's a nice little place to watch the sunset or rise, and have a picnic :)

Pu'u Ma'eli'eli - November 26th, 2012

Located in Kaneohe, near the valley of temples, we parked at the McDonald's, and walked down the road to the left, where about a block down maybe less you see the trail entrance, of course marked by no trespassing, this is the start and finish!

I loved this hike! The views were great along the way, and the distance was short making it great for kids even! Follow the trail markers to the left, there are a few branch off of trails, but the mail one is pretty obvious really.

It didn't take us long to get to the sign that said Pu'u Ma'eli'eli and explained its existence! Continue to the right and follow it a bit further and then the views are really great, it opens up t views of Kaneohe, great for sunrise or sunsets,

Kamiloiki ridge - November 20th, 2012

Another ridge hike located in Honolulu in the town if Hawaii Kai, at about 5 miles round trip, this is a rather simple with a few huff and puff hills along the way, and when we happened to do it, it was very windy and VERY dry, dessert like, accompanied by cactus plants! If a sunny day, you are sure to bake on this trail, for it offers little covering, except a short jaunt through the forest near the end!

Don't be fooled by the less than glamorous dry trail, the end view is amazing! Offering great views of Waimanalo, olomana, and Kaneohe! It took us about 3 hours round trip to complete this trail, which starts and finishes at a sacrificial ruins area, kinda creepy, just stay to the left when starting and to the right when finishing lol
